Clam Antivirus Overview
Clam Antivirus is antivirus software for Windows. The core of the package is an anti-virus engine available in a form of shared library.It provides a graphical user interface to the Clam AntiVirus engine. It provides a number of utilities including a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a command line scanner and advanced tool for automatic database updates.
It has built-in support for various archive formats, including Zip, RAR, Tar, Gzip, Bzip2, OLE2, Cabinet, CHM, BinHex, SIS and others.Also has ELF executables and Portable Executable files compressed with UPX, FSG, Petite, NsPack, wwpack32, MEW, Upack and obfuscated with SUE, Yoda Cryptor and others.It has support for almost all mail file formats.It has popular document formats including MS Office and MacOffice files, HTML, RTF and PDF.

Clam Antivirus is an open source (GPL) anti-virus toolkit for UNIX, designed especially for e-mail scanning on mail gateways.It uses the GNU General Public License. It comes with an installer and open source code at no cost. It features scanning scheduler, automatic virus database updates, at and alone virus scanner, integration to MS Windows Explorer, and add-in to MS Outlook.Clam Antivirus Version 0.95.3 contains improved virus signature handling and fixed detection of encrypted zip files which is embedded into other files.
