F-Secure Antivirus 2010 Overview
F-Secure Antivirus 2010 is simple to use and does a good job of blocking malware, it has a few bugs.
In traditional malware blocking tests, F-Secure Antivirus ranked in sixth place overall. Its 99.8 percent performance at blocking known spyware, worms, and other malware from AV-Test.org’s, but three other programs performed even better. The same goes for F-Secure’s 99.3 percent adware block rate.
Its middling performance continued in heuristic tests, which use two-week-old databases and newer malware samples to simulate how well a program can detect malware that doesn’t yet have a signature. It scored a 66.7 percent detection rate, behind three other application. And it finished its fourth out of four performance in behavioral detection tests, a form of defense that attempts to identify brand-new malware based on how it acts on your PC.

What We Found
F-Secure’s user-interface is outdated and not very user-friendly. Its options are simple, even when using the Advanced Settings. Overall the user-interface is in need of a major update. Besides virus protection, F-Secure also protects against Spyware, Worms, Rootkits, and other Malware like most every good Antivirus program does these days. However, F-Secure Antivirus doesn’t prevent attacks from Hackers like some Antivirus programs do – such as Norton Antivirus.
F-Secure offers its support via an online Knowledgebase, Email Support and Toll-Free Phone Support.
Besides F-Secure’s not very extensive Knowledgebase. F-Secure also doesn’t offer Chat support which can be valuable in certain circumstances.
