What We Found

 
The Avira Premium Security Suite does a great job of detecting malicious software. It includes new features to block drive-by downloads. Stops all kinds of viruses,with even faster performance, protection against hidden malware and even against an adware and spyware.Its antimalware capabilities continue to impress.
In the most recent AV-comparatives.org tests, Avira did very well indeed, it came out top , detecting an impressive 99.6 percent of detection rating.

 

Pros:

     

  • WebGuard detects and blocks Web-based exploits
  • Also prevents malicious downloads to your system
  • It adds a new (if rudimentary) backup system

 

Cons:

     

  • Its firewall didn’t completely stand out in our test
  • Also it lacks web antiphishing measures and parental controls
  • It doesn’t scan IM traffic at all, and it checks only inbound e-mail messages over the POP3 protocol
  • It is less effective at cleanup, removing just 40 percent of files and Registry entries introduced by malware
  • New backup feature is very limited
