McAfee Total Protection suite 2010 offers you and your family the ultimate PC and online security with accelerated performance. It’s now available with revolutionary Active Protection technology, enabling the fastest updates and highest levels of detection against malicious threats. It provides anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, anti-phishing, two-way firewallin addition to parental controls, identity protection, and a powerful website safety advisor.
McAfee Total Protection suite 2010 suite includes bonus download of McAfee Anti-Theft File Protection software that secures your valuable files. With continuous and automatic updates, McAfee helps ensure that you are running the most current security to combat the ever-evolving Internet threats.
It is the penultimate security product from this longtime security vendor, offering a complete suite of security and system-maintenance tools, including various wireless security tools absent from Symantec Norton 360 Certainly It provides the most security and performance features, however it is hobbled by some design and program flaws. It feels like a grab bag of security and performance tools without any clear focus, which will likely frustrate the average user. While it bests Windows Live OneCare, McAfee Total Protection suite 2010 could learn a few things from Norton 360.

McAfee Best AntiVrus In The World

I used McAfee AV Plus products for years, and when I saw the $40 price for Total Protection 2010, I upgraded to that product. The first machine I installed it on has a 2.7GHz Pentium 4 single processor with 1GB RAM and is running under XP Professional SP3. The computer appeared to lose about half its processing power once Total Protection was installed, and that’s in comparison to running with McAfee AV Plus 2009. I couldn’t stand the perfomance hit, so I purged all McAfee SW off the computer and went to the Microsoft Security Essentials, which was a free package and apparently works well. Barring a miraculous improvement in the performance hit when running Total Protection, I will not my subscription to McAfee when it expires later this year.
