Norton Internet Security 2010 Installation :

STEP 1

Check to see if the computer meets the minimum system requirements

To successfully install a Norton 2010 product, your system must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Windows Vista Home Basic/ Home Premium/Business/Ultimate
• Windows XP Home/XP Professional/XP Media Center Edition (32-bit only) with Service Pack 2 and above
• 300-MHz or faster processor
• 256 MB of RAM
• 350 MB of available hard disk space
• Must meet minimum Windows Vista operating system requirements.

STEP 2

Delete Windows temporary files

• Exit all programs.
• Run a tool to delete the temporary files.

STEP 3

Delete Temporary Internet files

• Open Internet Explorer.
• On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
• On the General Tab, under Browsing History, click Delete.
• Click Delete files, and then click Yes.
• Click Delete cookies, and then click Yes.
• Click Close, and then click OK.

Step 4

• Now Prepare your computer for installation

• Remove any other antivirus or firewall programs that are previously installed.

• Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.Do one of the following depending on your operating system

1. In Windows Vista, click Uninstall a Program.

2. In Windows XP, double-click Add or Remove Programs..

• In the list of installed programs, click any other antivirus or firewall program that you want to remove, and then

click Remove or Uninstall.

• Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.

• Click Restart Windows Now (Recommended), and then click Finish.

STEP 5

Install and activate Norton Internet Security 2010

• Do one of the following:

1. If you purchased a CD, insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive and click Install Norton Internet Security.

2. If you downloaded your copy of Norton Internet Security, double-click the file that you downloaded.

• If you do not want to join Norton Community Watch, uncheck that option.

By default, this option is checked.

• If you want to change the default installation location of Norton program, click Install Options, and then click

browse to locate the new location. Click OK.

• Click User License Agreement, read the User License Agreement, and then click OK.

• Click Agree and Install.

After completing the installation, Norton Internet Security 2010 launches automatically.

In the Norton Internet Security 2010window, at the right bottom corner, click Activate Now.

• Type in your Product Key, and then click Next.

• In the Norton Account window, type in your email address and then click Next.

• Do one of the following:

1. If you currently have a Norton account, type the password.

2. If you do not have a Norton account, complete the Create a Norton Account section, and then click Next.

• Review your subscription details, and then click Done.

Step 6

After you install Norton Internet Security 2010

• Run LiveUpdate

• Start your Norton program.

• In the Computer pane, click Run LiveUpdate.

• Click OK when LiveUpdate finishes installing all the updates.

Run Full System Scan

• Start your Norton program.

• In the Computer pane, click Scan Now > Run Full System Scan.

• Click Finish when the scan completes.
