Interface Guidance

 
AVG interface is clean and straightforward. Give good results during rootkit tests. Its main window is fresh and above all simple to use, which is good. It is simply built with three tabs left and the top few menu options. The rest of the room is filled with 12 icons, each for their own part of the suite. Also in this area the status of each part is indicated. If you click on one of the twelve icons, then the detailed status of that component as well as information about what exactly and where it was last updated. The firewall is also the profile on the PC application.
The left tab is possible to scan the computer or an update. After an update on the updated components each briefly closed to the Windows Security Center and AVG itself, warning that the components are disabled. This can be very annoying, because there is such a regular balloon from the Security Center. AVG is one of the few anti virus providers somewhat Windows-compliance with guidelines in interface design, because there is a real menu available. It means this suite did reasonably well among the security suites tested. But the real web protection, however, comes from LinkScanner, a tool that looks for and scrubs malicious content from Web sites before it hits your browser. As per money, AVG Internet Security 8.5 is a good value that will do a strong job at protecting your computer.

Interface Guidance

 
My protection : It can be split into three categories
File and Private Data : It features antivirus and application monitoring.
System and Application : It covers email, messaging, web scanning, anti-spam and a network attack blocker.
Online Activities : Adds a firewall, a real-time network monitor, anti-phishing measures and a banner blocker. There is also a Parental Control filter, with options to outright block children from particular sites or merely log events.
My Security Zone : It can be split into three categories
Application control : This features is live. From here you get a clean chart which organise your installed programs according to trustworthiness.
Digital Identity Protection : It allows you to uncover which files your personal information resides in according to program.
Safe Run(sandbox) : It nearly doubles the amount of RAM the program uses, but provides a secure environment for launching a program. Safe Run also comes with a sandboxed folder into which you can save files without worry. The feature currently will not run on Windows 7 computers, but Kaspersky says that it expects to have the feature fixed before the October release of the new operating system. Programs can be launched into Safe Run by two ways. Either you can add the program manually through the Kaspersky Security Zone panel or you can launch it on the fly using the context menu.
Scan My Computer : You can choose the local drive, usb and media drive you want to scan particularly from this option. Also you can run a complete system scan.
My Update center : It offers a smooth update scheduler. Click on Run Mode to change the schedule.
 

What We Found

 
The Vulnerability Scan option available under the Scan tab, utilises tech from Secunia to determine which programs are potential security risks because they lack recent updates or patches. For the programs that may not warn you that they have a pending security update, such as Adobe Flash, could be exceptionally useful.
The first major change we saw while installing it was that the process now provides some more custom options right at the time of installation. You can choose which component of internet security you want to install. The new menu options on the dashboard are well organized.We found that the program also comes with an auto-run disable feature and a virtual keyboard so that you can enter in passwords without worrying about a keylogger, which most users will find superfluous.
The new gamer mode, basically keeps Kaspersky functioning while you play games but kills interrupting pop-ups and strips memory usage down to its minimum. However, to schedule any other regular scan, you must click on the Settings option at the top right of the main Kaspersky window, choose the feature you want to schedule from the list on the left if it wasn’t open in the main window when you hit settings, select Settings from within the window that opens, and then finally click the Run Mode tab on yet one final pop-up window.
